Today we celebrate St. Matthias, Apostle and martyr. Unlike the other Apostles, Matthias was chosen after the Ascension to replace Judas Iscariot.

Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, you chose your faithful servant Matthias to be numbered among the twelve. Grant that your church may always be taught and guided by faithful and true pastors, through Jesus Christ our shepherd, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
