Covenant & Partner Congregations
Lutheran Campus Ministry is supported by many generous congregations in Wisconsin, and by the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin – ELCA.
We are grateful to the many congregations who support the work of Lutheran Campus Ministry year after year. Partner congregations have designated support of $1000 or more to campus ministry in their annual budgets. Supporting congregations are those who have sent gifts to Lutheran Campus Ministry in the current or previous fiscal year.
In addition to providing financial support, Partner Congregations support Lutheran Campus Ministry by providing meals, volunteers, and in-kind support. They also help to connect their congregation’s UW Students to campus ministry. Partner Congregations invite the Campus Pastor to share an update from the pulpit once per year and share information with their congregations regularly about the impact of campus ministry.

Did you know that in Fall 2021 almost 10,000 students will begin college for the first time in Madison and nearly 4 million students will start university across the nation?
All of these students will be experiencing a major life transition as they live apart from their families, seek out a future career, and grow into adulthood.
What if each of these students could find a community of faith that would affirm and care for them, walk alongside them during their college years, and help them to grow close to God as they discern their future?
Here at Lutheran Campus Ministry in Madison, it is our privilege to minister to students through worship, faith formation, and pastoral care.
Each year, about a quarter of our community changes, but in the short four years that we journey with students, they make so many important decisions that impact their futures profoundly.
All across our country, students are cared for by ELCA Campus Ministry sites at over 140 colleges and universities. What if the students who are graduating from your congregation’s youth ministry this spring could become a part of one of those ministries, dedicated to a fourfold mission that is lived out in each of our sites?
Building Community + Deepening Faith + Expanding Minds + Inspiring Service
I am writing to ask for your help. As you know, campus ministry sites do not receive any kind of enrollment information from the schools we serve, and this means that the only way ELCA Campus Pastors and Ministers can reach out to your college students is if YOU provide their information for us.
Our Campus Connect Project makes this so easy! It’s just three steps:
- You collect the names, contact information, and schools that your congregation’s college students are planning on attending this next school year.
- You send that information to us in whatever way is easiest for you!
- On your behalf, we share your students’ names and contact information with campus ministry staff at whatever school they attend.
When you participate, your students will be personally invited to participate in an ELCA Campus Ministry that will care for them, walk with them, and equip them during their college years and beyond.
We can’t do this without you! Please make a plan now to connect your students to campus ministry. Simply print this form, fill it out and return it to Lutheran Campus Ministry and we’ll take care of the rest! If you prefer, you can submit this information online using the webform at https://www.luminelca.org/refer-a-student/ or email the completed form to email@example.com. Please provide as much information as you can for all of your college students (not just incoming freshmen).
If you’d prefer your congregation members submit the information themselves, here is a bulletin insert to publicize the link.
If you need any help, please reach out to Sami, our student assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org. You’ll be hearing from Sami periodically over the summer as we continue to encourage and help you participate the Campus Connect Project.
Thank you for your partnership in accompanying students in their journeys of faith.
