What we want for you to know, more than anything else, is that you belong. The world constantly reminds us of what we are not. And life – especially life in a pandemic – has a tendency to make us feel alone. But you are a holy creation – made, loved, and claimed by God.
Which means you belong. Just as you are.
And the experience of belonging can give you freedom. Freedom to really be who you are. Freedom to really connect with others.Freedom to really dig into community, and make a difference in the world.
Join us at LCM as we explore what it means to belong to God, to one another, and to the world. You don’t have to be Lutheran — or any other faith — to join us. If you are a UW-Madison, Edgewood College, or any other post-secondary student, we are here for you. Click on any of the links below to find out details about how we’re living out God’s mission here in Madison and in the world.

This year, we’ll explore the idea of belonging in four parts.
Part 2: Belonging to One Another (October 28 – November 19)
We live in a world in which people can’t seem to get along, where race, class, political ideology, and so much more put up walls between people. From judgements made unconsciously to complacency in systemic evil, we must learn how to recognize and transcend our biases. Join us for a four week conversation about how Christian contemplative prayer can help us to see one another more clearly, based on “Learning how to See,” a podcast from the Center for Contemplation and Action.
Part 1: Belonging to Ourselves (September 16-October 21)
In order to belong to others, we must first seek to understand ourselves just as we are. The Enneagram is an ancient theory of unknown origin that provides wisdom for people who want to get out of their own way and become who God created them to be. Join us for a five week discussion on the Enneagram based on Ian Cron’s book, “The Road Back to You.”
